The reason I said "apples and oranges" is because your comment made it look like you were saying ORMs and GUIs were interchangeable, like if one doesn't have a GUI then an ORM can be used instead, whereas a more reasonable comparison is that a command shell like psql is an alternative to a GUI, because both are for direct user interaction with the database without having to write code first. -- Darren Duncan
