It is IDE, but DMA is on:

This is an out-of-the-box RH 7.2 install (kernel 2.4.7-10) on recent
Dell hardware.  If anyone can suggest further tuning of the hdparm
settings, I'm all ears.  Don't know a darn thing about disk tuning
for Linux.
