Just a quick update on this.

So far it's looking really promising.

Because of
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=490613
it's necessary to still do separate .src.rpm builds for older
RHEL/CentOS and for Fedora. mock can take care of that though, just

   mock -r epel-5-i386 \
        --buildsrpm \
        --spec rpm/postgresql-x.y.spec \
        --sources rpm/

or whatever.

Still some bugs to fix in the unified package and more testing to do
but I'm happy with how things are looking. I'll probably need to make
new mock targets too, of course, but that looks trivial.
