It's been at least 3 major versions since they even attempted to keep compatible with PostgreSQL. OpenACS could be revived as a PostgreSQL-supporting piece of software, and that might be a good thing. It would entail adjusting OpenACS to the things PostgreSQL has changed rather than the reverse.
