I looked at it and I think it's probably harmless and not related to the
unsetenv issue.  The interesting lines are:

28    -LIBS=`echo "$LIBS" | sed -e 's/-ledit//g' -e 's/-lreadline//g'`
29    +LIBS=`echo "$LIBS" | sed -e 's/-ledit//g' -e 's/-lreadline//g' -e 's/-lgssapi//g' -e 's/-lkrb5//g'`
