Обсуждение: PostgreSQL 16 and RHEL 7

Hi,

I'm thinking of dropping PostgreSQL 16 support  on RHEL 7. We were too
late while cutting RHEL 6 support, and still have to build RPMS until
v12 is EOLEd. Dropping RHEL 7 support will also simplify a bunch of spec
files as well. The GCC version on RHEL 7 is also insufficient to build a
few packages as well.

Any objections/comments?

Even though I have a  RHEL 7 machine.  It's unlikely I'll ever upgrade it to PG16 before I upgrade the OS.
I'd be afraid applications I use it for would break since some critical changes for PG have happened over the years
withdrivers and just some syntax changes that affect performance with some syntax at best or just incompatible with the
drivers.

So I think you dropping PG16 support would be the least of my concerns.
