Through my job I have to use the following gui version of pg_admin

Too much dependency on mouse is bad for my arm.

Do you have video, suggestions, guide to totally eliminate use of the mouse with this tool.

Unfortunately I do not have access to a UNIX server

thanks

Hi Carrie,

The alternative to the mouse, is the keyboard.

As a generic tip, valid basically for everything browser-based..
Try perhaps making more use of 'tab' to move between fields and use the
keyboard in a complimentary way to shortcut your mouse actions.

Else, learn the command line way of managing PostgreSQL. You won't
regret it.

Carrie,

I agree with Fabio’s suggestion of learning psql and the handful of other command line utilities that most of us use to administer (and script the administration) of PostgreSQL.  There is nothing that you can do in pg_admin that you can’t do at the command line.  A good book — there are several available — may help you quickly get comfortable working comfortably mouse-free.

Cheers,

- Evan

Hi Carrie,

Several years ago I discovered that my C5 and C6 vertebrae compressed the nerves that control my right arm, caused pain, and the doctor recommended almost immobility of the arm.
In order to continue working, without using the mouse, I imported from an Israeli company a mouse / ring that used on the index finger and did not require arm movements.
Maybe you still find something similar ...

Regards
