postgres start up error

Hello Admins,
When I am rebooting my postgres server I am getting below error. postgres user is not able to create a directory in /var/run, var/run is owned by root in our organization. So I have to create the directory manually, chnage the permissoin and start postgres.
Is there a way I can change the /var/run folder to any other location where I can manage the postgres permission.

 postmaster[4117]: < 2018-03-19 13:16:45.272 EDT > LOG:  database system is shut down

postgresql-9.6.servicemain process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE

Mar 19 13:16:45..com systemd[1]: Failed to start PostgreSQL 9.6 database server.

Mar 19 13:16:45...com systemd[1]: Unit postgresql-9.6.service entered failed state.

looks like a typo in your postgresql.conf file, poostgresql should be postgresql
