In this: +A: No, it's approximately our 27th major release in 30 years ofdevelopment. We release a new version of PostgreSQL everyyear, whichis unique among SQL databases. Because of the long history of ourproject the first two decimals are majorreleases. Thus 9.5, 9.1 and9.0 were all major releases. Minor releases have numbers like 9.2.9.However, this way ofnumbering releases will change next year.</p> Since the text qualify releases with major/minor in other places, perhaps the below wording will make it even clearer for those who aren’t fully fluent in our versioning and release scheme: “.. We release new major version of PostgreSQL every year, .." Nothing else stood out from reading the (english portion of the) patch, looks good. cheers ./daniel

Patch applies cleanly. The only broken link I can find in the presskit is the one for the Slonik icon. In the FAQ, the "2008 Developer.com Award for best Database Tool" link goes to a broken(?) page. There's nothing about PostgreSQL on there anyway. The last question in the FAQ is arguable inaccurate: Many people, however, just say "post-GREZ" Should be: Many people, however, just say "post-GRES" -- Dave Page Blog: http://pgsnake.blogspot.com Twitter: @pgsnake EnterpriseDB UK: http://www.enterprisedb.com The Enterprise PostgreSQL Company

I'll fix. > In the FAQ, the "2008 Developer.com Award for best Database Tool" link > goes to a broken(?) page. There's nothing about PostgreSQL on there > anyway. I'll just remove this whole question. I don't think anyone cares about awards anyway. > The last question in the FAQ is arguable inaccurate: > > Many people, however, just say "post-GREZ" > > Should be: > > Many people, however, just say "post-GRES" Depends on which English dialect you speak ;-) Personal, I prefer "post-GREE-zel" -- -- Josh Berkus Red Hat OSAS (any opinions are my own)
Dave, all: Revised patch attached. BTW, this is also available here: https://github.com/jberkus/pgweb/tree/96rel ... if you want to merge/PR. -- -- Josh Berkus Red Hat OSAS (any opinions are my own)

Icon link looks good now. I assume you realise the translated press kits are all either 404 or the 9.5 ones at this stage? Can I get an updated patch with the correct content ASAP please? In this case, for some unexplained reason, git was ignoring my last change to press.html. New patch attached. -- -- Josh Berkus Red Hat OSAS (any opinions are my own)

One change made - the Italian translation of the presskit had an additional link in it to the 2ndQuadrant blogs tagged for 9.6. After discussion with Magnus I removed it, as we both believe that the translations are supposed to be 1:1, with the exception of required differences in contacts and regional websites. -- Dave Page Blog: http://pgsnake.blogspot.com Twitter: @pgsnake EnterpriseDB UK: http://www.enterprisedb.com The Enterprise PostgreSQL Company
