Hello,

i'm considering in using PgSql for my next project. I'm expirenced oracle db
developer...Can someone in short describe key differences between the two if
that is even possible.

For example i heard that pgsql doesn't support packages, instead it uses db
schemas to group business logic. Also there are no autonomous transactions ?

You could begin here...

Yes, there are significant differences between the two. But if you are planning to use PostgreSQL for a new project, the differences may not be very relevant. Differences may be important when you try to migrate from Oracle to PostgreSQL?
For most of the features which are there in Oracle, but missing in PostgreSQL, there are work-arounds.
