Hi, we are acquiring data from systems on windows and WindowsNT platform ,size of datafiles are in MB and
gigabytes(GB)My postgres database is installed on sun solaris platform.
I would like to the know about the different methods or techniques that i can apply to transfer the data from these
systems(onwindows/NT) to my postgres (on Solaris platform) database. All the systems (computer ) are well connected by
network.

I had success importing windows hosted database to postgresql using the ODBC driver. I.e. Hi Manika, How are they stored on your WindowsNT systems? Are they already in some form of database? If you have ODBC connectivity in their already stored format, that is one way of doing it. If you can convert them to a CSV file, that is another way of doing it (there are drawbacks and benefits in this). Can you give us more info as to how it's presently stored (text file(s), MS SQL, MS Access, etc), what types of data, and so on?
