and what was the error?


No any=C2=A0 message , because of=C2=A0 session of pg-dump can not return to
command-line ! It is hang up !
But there is=C2=A0 a message only =C2=A0 when run in Server of data sender :
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 "pg_dump =C2=A0 -h localhostVer8.4.3=C2=A0 =C2=A0 db=
=C2=A0=C2=A0 | psql -h RemoteHost_Ver8.4.3 db "
This messages is " could not receive data from client : connection be
reset by remote !"

database and user?


pg_hba.conf is all ok=C2=A0 that=C2=A0 Server updated from
8.0->8.1->8.2->8.3->8.4.2=C2=A0 to 8.4.3!
