I am in favor of it being dropped completely: The PostgreSQL Global Development Group is proud to announce the release of version 7.3 of the the PostgreSQL object-relational database management system (ORDBMS). PostgreSQL, the world's most advanced open source database, provides solutions for many of the most demanding applications in use today, saving businesses and governments millions of dollars each year. > Final release may be as soon as wednesday. I move that we freeze > all changes to the press release tommorrow AM, and go with it. I disagree for two reasons: 1) I was out of town this weekend, and not able to reply until this morning. :) 2) This is a press release and not a program - I think last minute changes should always be acceptable: if there is a need to change something, let's do it. We only get one shot at this. I also think we should just leave out the mention of bugs entirely. No reason to point them out: it is implied that a nerw version fixes bugs in the old one. Admins are another set too. ] I meant those non-technical people who might not know what a makefile is, but are responsible for the decision to use Postgres, e.g. managers.
