However, the lsi logic command line utilities run just fine. As for ubuntu sas support, ubuntu suports the mpt fusion/sas line directly through the kernel. In fact, installing ubuntu server fixed an unrelated issue relating to a qlogic fibre hba that was causing reboots under heavy load with a pci-x fibre controller on centos. So, based on this and other experiences, i'm starting to be more partial to linux distributions with faster moving kernels, mainly because i trust the kernel drivers more than the vendor provided drivers. The in place distribution upgrade is also very nice. merlin
