Hm, that is a bit annoying. I do not think we want to change any behavior here, either of pg_dump or pg_dumpall, but I also do not like having to add two new flags to pg_dump (one for including the ALTER DATABASE commands but not CREATE DATABASE, and another flag for default_transaction_read_only) or a special flag similar to --binary-upgrade. None of these options seem optimal to me, and I do not have any strong preference other than that we should avoid breaking pg_dump or changing behavior not related to the database attributes. Andreas
