Did the 07 series driver work? The ANSI driver is essentially the same as the 07 ones.

i downloaded 08.01.0100 and installed the Unicode variant. The behaviour is unchanged.
Sending string with german vovels resulted in the error:
Error while executing the query;
ERROR: Unicode characters greater than or equal to 0x10000 are not supported
ODBC call was: executeExternal
SQL state: S1000'
If i convert the string to UTF-8, before sending, it works.
Reveiving strings with german vovels works fine.
Err, yes. The Unicode driver is for use with Unicode (UTF-8) data. If you want to avoid using Unicode, use the ANSI driver.
