As selling point it's often easy to just try to switch from MySQL to PostgreSQL using Pg_chameleon so one can play around PostgreSQL capabilities using his own datum! Tool page: http://www.pgdba.co.uk/p/mysql-to-postgresql-replica.html + author presentation in our local user group: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQQHFqmeSfk As for "GUI" i could imagine some smooth sailing with some tool that could speak both MySQL and PostgreSQL, so one can use it irrelevant of when one changes underlying db.
