Dear PGSQL-ODBC Team,

 

We’ve noticed a regression in the latest ODBC driver (version 13).

 

The environment this occurs in consists of:

-          ODBC driver: 32 and 64 bit, Unicode, Version 13

-          DB Engine: PGSQL 12.5, 64 bits under Windows 2019

-          Query executed from within an SSIS (MS SQL Server Integration Services) package

 

When running a very simple query like SELECT TO_CHAR(('DEC 31 1971'::DATE + 10000),'YYYY-MM-DD')::VARCHAR(10) AS "DateText" , the driver seems to return wrong table metadata.

Returned metadata: varchar(255)

Expected metadata: varchar(10)

 

Previous version of the driver (e.g. 12.2) do not expose this error and work just fine.

Is this a known issue and is there a fix for it ?

 

Fiddling the various driver options (unknown length or “Parse Statement”) have no effect on the described behavior.
