Enquiries

Dear Sir/ Madam,
I have encountered some problems when trying to compile some embedded SQL
c-programs & would like to enquire about it. The error I encountered is as
shown below:

       $make
          ecpg termregister.pgc
          ecpg: can't load library 'libreadline.so.2.
          make: *** [termregister] Error 16

I am uncertain of what the library file "libreadline.so.2" is used for,
neither can i find it.
May I know what are the possible causes for the above errors & the possible
ways to rectify it? Below is some information regarding my system to help
you understand my problem better:
    System info: Linux 2.0.34, Pentium II-400MHz machine
    Remarks: Postgres installed using Linux rpm (under X-windows
environment), no manual                 installation was
used;
         Postmaster is already running at time of error.
