Installation on mandriva 2006

I amtrying to install pgadmin on to a mandrake 2006 system , bu the 
installation fails due to a lack of  libpgq.so.3.

I can find no trace of libpq.so.3.

there is however  a  libpq.so  and  a  libpq.so.4  which  is an sl of 
the .so version
