So although Oracle has a larger market share in license revenue, there may be more SQL Server installations in existence. A more interesting figure would be the total number of transactions, worldwide, running against each vendor's database. From pure speculation, I'd guess the average number of simultaneous transactions thrown at an Oracle or IBM installation at any point-in-time is larger than the average thrown at SQL Server. But I somehow suspect that figure is a bit more difficult to acquire. Mike Mascari
