failed to compile on irix6.5 with gcc

hi,
i am trying to compile postgres on

!:nsdv4:/home/people/tiaan/postgresql-7.1.3%>uname -a
IRIX64 nsdv4 6.5 01101245 IP27


with


!:nsdv4:/home/people/tiaan/postgresql-7.1.3%>gcc -v
Reading specs from

could anyone perhaps help me in solving this
