That was it, I just recompiled PG with a blocksize of 16KB, i.e. edited src/include/config.h.in's BLCKSZ definition, ran configure, and did a gmake all/gmake install. As I mentioned, I had other reasons for wanting to run with a 16KB blocksize while waiting for TOASTed large text (and other) types, so it's no biggie for me.
