Uh, I still don't understand what error you are talking about.  Here are
some examples:

    SELECT 'abc' LIKE 'a_c';
     ?column?
    ----------
     t
    
    SELECT 'abc' LIKE 'a%c';
     ?column?
    ----------
     t
    
    SELECT 'abc' LIKE 'a%*c';
     ?column?
    ----------
     f

Can you show me an example?
