So they have to be text files and look like: -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- <some base64 encoded data> -----END CERTIFICATE----- and -----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY----- <some base64 encoded data> -----END RSA PRIVATE KEY----- This is the default format produced by openssl.
