Toma ... can you check if this is something DragonFly is missing?  I'm
running several jails with 7.4.5 in it, and have no probs with the stats
collector:

pgsql   625  0.0  0.0  5492 1680  ??  SJ   Sat02PM  28:27.32 postmaster: stats collector process    (postgres)
pgsql   624  0.0  0.0  4928 1260  ??  SJ   Sat02PM   7:53.75 postmaster: stats buffer process    (postgres)
pgsql   622  0.0  0.0 16588  564  ??  SsJ  Sat02PM   2:27.90 /usr/local/pgsql/bin/postmaster -D /usr/local/pgsql/data
-S(postgres) 

But, this is on a FreeBSD 4.x machine ...
