Easy,

become root,

cd /path/to/uptarred/pogsql_src/contrib

# make
# make install


# cd <yoir_fav_contrib_package_folder>
# psql -U username db_name -f name_of_contrib_package.sql ( generally)


in case of dbsize

# cd dbsize
# psql -U uname db_name -f dbsize.sql
