Since you asked for a trigger answer, I think you'd need a function like (untested) CREATE FUNCTION mytriggerfunc() returns OPAQUE AS ' begin DELETE FROM table2 where table2.id = OLD.id; RETURN NULL; end;' language 'plpgsql';
