libpq error when installing postgres 7 on solaris 7???

Dear All,

     I am trying to install postgres 7.0.2 on solaris
7. I have d/l'ed and installed gcc and gmake which are
needed for postgres.

     Then I have run ./configure as given in install
file after untaring it. Then I have run gmake and
while executing this command i got the following error
message:-

/bin/sh: ar: not found

How Can I solve this problem ???
