Configuring postgresql8.1.1

hi,

i have installed postgresql8.1.1 on RedHat7.0. how do i enable TCP/IP
connection. though i have uncommented listen_addresses = localhost in
postgreql.conf file,the connection is refused.

Can you help me in resolving this.
