I think we should proceed as normal. * This release /is/ significant. There are some really nice, powerful features that have been added. As Tom pointed out, some of these features are allowing people to consider replacing Oracle. We need to play these up, and not mention Windows, PITR, etc. We'll just have to make statement-level triggers and improved handling of "IN" sexy somehow. :) * For PostgreSQL, any press is good press. :) * We should consider this a test run for the upcoming Windows release. Let's get all the bugs out now, and make the next release announcement (hopefully "next" = "windows" ;) a smooth process. As such, I'd like to see a centralized list of places to send the news to. Just in case we don't have such a list, let me start one: Main website Advocacy website Techdocs website Slashdot Linux Magazine Linux.com Newsforge Database Journal Internetnews.com Linux Journal itworld.com/itnews.com There are probably more. Ideally, I'd like to put all this into a database, with contact information, track who submitted what and when, what articles they ran, etc. I'll whip something up if there is an interest. - -- Greg Sabino Mullane greg@turnstep.com PGP Key: 0x14964AC8 200306191218 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Comment: http://www.turnstep.com/pgp.html iD8DBQE+8eYOvJuQZxSWSsgRArD4AKCWWAeONPHloQYBRZzYgDwdYav+swCgkSFl up0v1guvqMo5cqa+gIPpB6I= =v2yk -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
