The machines are on the same subnet, nearly side by side. I thought maybe I could telnet into port 5432 but still no luck... it's as if postmaster isn't taking tcp connections of any kind. Both machines have proper forward/reverse dns and no packet filtering exists between them. How can I verify postmaster is accepting tcp connections?
