Submitted for someone to tell me what the heck is going on....

[root@harmony log]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/postgresql stop
Stopping postgresql service:                               [  OK  ]
[root@harmony log]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/postgresql start
Checking postgresql installation: looks good!
Postmaster already running.
[root@harmony log]#
