Or is there a place in an FAQ or something that can somewhat define how much extra resources are required for each extra user? And thank you for the rapid response, it never fails to completely boogle my mind at how fast and accurate the assistance on using postgres is. > -----Original Message----- > From: Neil Conway [SMTP:nconway@klamath.dyndns.org] > Sent: Monday, August 12, 2002 10:40 AM > To: chris.gamble@CPBINC.com > Cc: PostgreSQL General > Subject: Re: [GENERAL] Max user connections from Postgres Linux 7.2.1 > > chris.gamble@CPBINC.com writes: > > Can someone tell me what the maximum user limits I can expect from a > redhat > > 7.2+ server running postgres 7.2.1? > > The maximum number of connections will largely depend on the hardware > in the box (which you didn't mention ...) -- I'd bet you could run 512 > or 768 simultaneous connections on Linux 2.4 with a beefy enough > machine. > > Cheers, > > Neil > > -- > Neil Conway <neilconway@rogers.com> > PGP Key ID: DB3C29FC
