I tried to reproduce this on an older quad core i7 MacBook Pro running Sonoma
14.7.5 using Apple clang version 15.0.0 (clang-1500.3.9.4) which corresponds to
LLVM 16. Nothing so far after running a testloop suggested by Andres off-list
for two hours.
